Meals on Wheels

Science

Hello, Miss!

Intro
The Meals on Wheels project was made for helping Sarah Jones ( miss Silva’s second identity ) to decide which menu was the best menu to lose weight in short time without a lack of nutrients (if it was not the objective, well, I guess I’ve got short memory…). So we had to research about the foods present in the menu and find out the nutrients and its functions.

How it was
First, I actually couldn’t understand what we had to do in the beginning because I was traveling to the Moon (boiando, in Portuguese) when you were explaining the project. But my dear teammates like Marcella, Vitor and Bruno, explained to me the points and the views that I needed to have to do a nice project. Until the second day I was still confused, because I would travel to the Moon unconsciously (that was one of my objectives: NOT travel to the Moon at class – unfortunately I couldn’t achieve my objectives) and after coming back to Earth, I would already forget what I was doing. So I started doing a complicated research about all the nutrients and foods that were present in the menu. But when I was doing it, the second identity of Sarah Jones came up to me and put me in the right direction. “ Do it more generally, or you are never “gonna” finish this.” She said. In the third day, I was going good. But not exceptionally, as I would do on the next days. And the two last days were pretty much the same, because I kept researching and writing the text that I would read in front of the class ( including the “ fibers helps you when using the toilet” ).
I had some really good time academically, but socially too. I didn’t use to talk to my teammates so much like I did in that classes. So I became closer to them. They were somehow organized (yes, I’m talking about takasu. He is really organized) and really funny.

Analyzing the menus

The chosen menu was the one that I was researching ( hohohoho so proud of me ). It was the second one. Well, the criteria was the best menu to lose weight, but not making the person lose her/his nutrients so fast, making the person have a lack of nutrients. The first menu, even when I just looked at it, without reading, I was certain that it was definitely not the right one. It was the best one to lose the weight really fast, but not for long term diet. The menu was too poor on nutrients. And the third menu, the worst one for a diet, was good to maintain the weight or maybe, increase the weight. So the chosen one was the second (yay!). It fit perfectly for a long-term diet.

End
I discovered some really cool stuff through my and other’s presentations. Like some curiosity about nutrients. I also discovered that I have a lot a lot a lot of things to study.
